The book launch of Professor Adrian Daub's Uncivil Unions: The Metaphysics of Marriage in German Idealism & Romanticism published by The University of Chicago Press, March 2012. "In Uncivil Unions, Daub presents a truly interdisciplinary look at the story of a generation of philosophers, poets, and intellectuals who turned away from theology, reason, common sense, and empirical observation to provide a purely metaphysical justification of marriage." - The Univ. of Chicago Press

Adrian Daub's talk will be followed by comments and discussion with Elisabeth Krimmer, Professor of German and Department Chair at the University of California at Davis.  Attendees are then invited to attend a  reception and book signing.  Copies of Uncivil Unions will be available for sale by The Stanford Bookstore.
