Distinguished Visiting Austrian Chair Professors

Distinguished Visiting Austrian Chair Professors

Through the Austrian and Central European Program, The Europe Center and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies host the annual Distinguished Visiting Austrian Chair Professor at Stanford University.  The Distinguished Chair Professorship is open to Austrian faculty in all fields represented by Stanford University's seven schools, with special emphasis on the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Law. Candidates are nominated and then awarded the Chair by the University of Vienna after a formal review by The Europe Center.  The Europe Center and the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies facilitate the Chair's teaching appointment in the appropriate Stanford school or department.  The Chair is given a formal visiting professor appointment at both the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies as well as at the Stanford academic department or school where they will be teaching.

Persons interested in applying for the Distinguished Visiting Austrian Chair Professorship should visit the University of Vienna webpage  for more information on the application process.
