Visiting Scholars

About the Visiting Scholar Program

The Europe Center welcomes individuals interested in coming to Stanford to conduct collaborative research and engage in TEC and Stanford's robust academic environments. Visiting Scholars must procure support from a TEC-affiliated Stanford faculty member and typically possess a PhD.

Visitors at The Europe Center are expected to join us for our seminar series on Thursday afternoons and are often invited to additional TEC events. TEC endeavors to provide visitors with workspace in our office, depending on availability.

Funding

Visiting Scholar positions at The Europe Center are unpaid. Visitors seeking assistance from The Europe Center in procuring a J-1 visa should be prepared to demonstrate adequate financial support for the duration of your stay at Stanford.

Application Process

*Please note that it is recommended to start your application for a Visiting Scholar position at least 6-months prior to your anticipated start date.

Complete the Visiting Candidate Form and the Faculty Host Form
