  • Anthony Marra

Author Anthony Marra will read from and discuss his collection of interlinked stories from his new book. Beginning with a Soviet censor in the tunnels beneath Leningrad and ending with a cosmonaut at the edge of the solar system, The Tsar of Love and Techno stretches across a century, a continent, and a striking cast of characters tied together by an obscure 19th-century painting.

Anthony Marra is the author of A Constellation of Vital Phenomena, which has been translated into sixteen languages. His second book, The Tsar of Love and Techno, was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award in Fiction. He is the recipient of the Guggenheim Fellowship, the National Magazine Award, the Whiting Award, and the Berlin Prize Fellowship, and presently teaches in the Creative Writing Program at Stanford University.
