As he looks back on his time at Stanford, his favorite experience was studying abroad at Oxford University through the Bing Overseas Studies Program. “I will remember reading Victorian literature in the English rain as it soaked me to the bone,” he shared.

He also participated in the Global Studies Internship Program through The Europe Center one summer. He interned at Renew Europe at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium. "Working at the European Parliament was an invaluable experience," he said. "Being able to take part in political debates, attend meetings with Members of the European Parliament (MEPs), and forge relationships with coworkers was extraordinary."

Read the Q&A below to learn more about Jacob’s experience as an undergraduate.

As you reflect on your time at Stanford, what are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the Speakers Brief, which I co-founded with my friend Matt Kaplan. Every week, we would publish a list and description of speakers coming to Stanford for our friends.

How has your minor changed your understanding of the world and prepared you for next steps?

My minor in global studies has very much affected my view of the world, particularly Dr. Christophe Crombez's classes on European politics, which have made me better understand the reasons behind the structure of European societies.

What are your plans following graduation?

I plan to tutor Chinese children.
