Jens Meijen is a PhD researcher at the University of Leuven in Belgium and a Fulbright Fellow at Stanford University. His doctoral research currently focuses on the impact of short-term political thinking on long-term policy areas like climate policy, technology policy, and democratic innovation. He was a Europaeum Scholar in the University of Oxford-led Europaeum network, an Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leader at the Policy Center for the New South in Morocco, and a Global Policy Fellow at the Institute for Technology and Society in Rio de Janeiro. Outside of academia, he is an IDEA Practitioner at NASA and an AI consultant at Ulysses AI and Sparkle. He is also a journalist, writing regularly for various national media in Belgium, and he has published three books.
